Sunshine Reef has produced record numbers of Coral Trout this year and the 5kg specimen that Peregian angler Anne Hervey is posing with is a good example. Anne and her husband Phil were out there Tuesday when the reef fish came on the bite. Their other standout was the 2.5kg Sweetlip that Phil's holding. Their baits? Squid and Stripey fillets.

Aaston Vergenhaigen from Germany (below left) booked onto Cougar Too's full day charter to Double Island Point last Tuesday and apart from having a great day out, hooked and boated the very nice 4kg Maori Cod he's pictured with.

Noosa Blue Water Charters have done very well on the Coral Trout this season and Cougar Too hit the jackpot again while out there on a half day charter yesterday morning. David Hansen (above right) from Boondall in Queensland was part of a mixed group that enjoyed a pleasant morning out there and was the lucky angler who boated the 5kg specimen in the photo. He was kitted out with a Silstar Powertip rod and a Shimano TLD20 reel loaded with 20lb line.

Talk about the right place at the right time! Local anglers Rory, Graham and Grant dropped the pick at Chardon's Reef yesterday morning and around 7am found themselves surrounded by a school of voracious Mahi Mahi or Dolphin Fish. Using Davo's Pilchards for bait our dynamic trio boated eight (6.4kg to 7kg) of these hard fighting fish in a frantic one and a half hour session. They were armed with Shimano Baitrunner 6500 threadline combos loaded with 30lb mono line.
