PAGE ONE - OFFSHORE REPORT

|OFFSHORE: It wasn't a particularly exciting week for the offshore brigade with strong (20 to 25 knot) south easterlies the norm rather than the exception. Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning (when the winds eased to a more manageable 10 to 15 knots) provided the best opportunities but sadly, while the fish were in reasonable numbers, there were a lot of juvenile 'pickers' in amongst what were, at best, mostly just average size reefies. There were no reports from out wide. Along the middle reef belt, North Reef produced moses perch, venus tusk fish, pearl perch, squire and plenty of small teraglin jewfish while at Massoud's Reef the catch was black tip reef shark, school cobia, moses perch, venus tusk fish, sweetlip and more teraglin jewfish. Closer in, Sunshine Reef was the spot for squire, bonito, venus tusk fish, moses perch and (even more) teraglin jewfish. In Laguna Bay, the Hall's Reef stretch yielded grass sweetlip.|
| We've had numerous inquiries as to when the next Noosa
River to Reef Family Fishing Classic will be held. Well, we've just
had confirmation that it will be the first weekend of June,
2013. That means that sign-on day will be Friday
May 31, 2013 and the competition will run through until Sunday
the 2nd of June. So, even though it seems a fair way off, at least
you all now have plenty of notice and ample time to plan for this great
weekend of family fishing fun.
The video clip above is from the inaugural 2012 event when over three hundred anglers participated. Next year it'll be even better. Hope to see you all there.
